Kept grinding away on the sand blasted body. The cars been broken for a bit and work has been busy. It'll be running again tomorrow (snapped off a bracket bolt for the alternator sliding around and doing donuts).
Anyways spent a little time today with the trusty flap disc. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1381796584.609148.jpg

Thanks man, hoping to have it "finished" soon. I'm having trouble with the whole paint it or leave it bare. What makes the decision easy at times is the cost of a nice black paint job.

I'm also still contemplating a mild chop so the whole car will be completed minus the finish out body work soon.

Car looks real good; I'm hooked on 30-31's myself.Channeled and not chopped; Hmmmmm- you must be from the East Coast of Texas? Now all you have to do is drive the crap out of it! Happy Motoring. Mike from Mass.

Looks good, I'd chop it, then paint it, drive it.

The re built motor and chassis has about 500 or so miles on it already. I was gentle for the first 100 or so. Now we're getting into getting everything right again. No serious problems, just snapped an alternator bracket bolt, blew out a seal on a transmission fluid hard line, re tightening anything loose and plenty of metal beautification.

It will remain unpainted till I decide on the chop, color will be satin black. And the interior will be very minimal: black dash from a 36, black elephant hide seats and aluminum door panels with some sound deadener backing. Oh and black carpet.

Gonna be making noise at pistons and paint. Hopefully she's ready by then

ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1381874479.158152.jpg all the credit for the "real" work on this car goes to a good buddy of mine. He's not on the hamb but he's one of the most talented dudes I know. This car was supposed to be the one that he'd never sell but family things happen. I told him I want first call of it ever goes for sale. Sure enough it went up for sale and i was lucky enough to buy it. He's sort of my mentor but doesn't know it haha

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. It really is a fun little car with a ton if power. Having it finished seems so close yet so far away at times. The devil really is in the details

I agree on the never being finished. The word can have stages within. there is that first point where you've got everything done overall. Then over time You can spend time on the little things and upgrades to something that's already on the car. I want a nice original 32 grill for example. I have the re pop brookville for now.

Youngspeed I'm 5'8" and I have to look out the roof to see stoplights. The most I'd chop it would be 2-3". If it wasn't channelled I'd chop it wild like that. but I prefer the channel

Got my deck lid sitting in place that my buddy made for me. Starting with the DA now to keep going on the body. Hoping to get a few more things done before pistons and paint. I'm not a car builder by any means but I'm learning as I go and can't think my buddy that built the car enough for answering all my dumb questions. Not sure if he wants his name out on here or not but I know some hambers know him. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1382541110.021576.jpg
