Projects Look ! NOS Goodyear Twin Pinner White Walls !

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by rob-redm, Oct 6, 2013.

  1. So my buddy and I were attending the last Monroe swap meet here in Washington. While walking around looking for goodies. We came across (7)
of these nos Goodyear tires(G78-15)Still had the Goodyear labels on them as well with Texaco gas station mark down labels. The car belongs to my pal Shawn. Has had it for a few years, so he did the mad thrash to make the Swindlers poker run. Rebuilt the front end, complete brakes(frt & rear) removed and had the fuel tank flushed and sealed. The booster was shot for the power brakes and no exhaust in the end couldn't make the run. But it's running great now the exhaust sounds great. Just waiting for the booster to come back. The front will be coming up some in the future. I posted this for my buddy , since you guys & gals dig cool stuff. Had I enough $$$ those be would running on my 62 Poncho Safari on TTO rims... sorry for the photo size. click on it to see it better.

  10. Depends on how everything was stored. I could say that every time I mount a new tire. Rubber hates time, but it hates improper storage even more.

  11. These were stored right for sure. All of them had no issues at all. Your right rubber does hate time for sure.

Don't forget! That stupid old motor is going to blow, too!

Excellent (and scarce!) tires on a sweet little Ford... love it.

I'd kill for a set of those on my Rivi...

  17. I know ! Wish they were on my 62 Safari! They are killer, had two 14" on the front of the Wagon when I bought it. But they were shot. Why they don't repop something like these for the early to mid 60's kustom guys is beyond me. Hey Corkey Coker hint hint ! Lol

Man I like the look of those tires. Am I correct in understanding they do not repop those? I think they would look great on my starliner.

I've seen enough cars wrecked from the blow outs. I wouldn't put 40+ year old tires on my car, I care how good they looked. They are great 'display' tires and poor 'road' tires. Just my opinion...

Of course if one does blow out, Goodyear will be a lousy tire company...

That Ford sits perfect if you ask me, but you didn't, so there!

I'd run the tires too. Just gotta remember not to drive like Steve McQueen. Probably want to keep both hands on the wheel too!
