Wow. I had a lot of local friends attend this event, it's good to see some photos. I hope there's more to be posted -thanks! -H.R.D-
it was originally built back in the 50's,I think there was an article in a Street Rodder magazine about the car last year sometime, I was parked next to it with my 33 Vicky and spent some time visiting with the owner
Thanks for posting. I miss Tahoe (homesick), it is good to see that they are doing that stuff up at the casinos. I am surprised to see the turn out and the lack of car covers (tree sap). Any pinecones smack any cars?
Thanks Dave. And please do post more photos. Took my 34 out for a ride yesterday. Sure would be nice to be in Tahoe....
I saw a bunch of them on HWY 50. If I new about it , I would have dusted the 32 off and gone. Next year.
These pic's were taken by a guy called "SMUGMUG" on the Fordbarn..follow the link --> http://jthompson.smugmug.com/EarlyFordV8GoldenJubilee
Another Ford meet for my bucket-list! Great cars and a beautiful location (not to mention a great test for your flathead's cooling system). In the past, V-8 Club members were well known for DRIVING their cars to regional and national meets from all over the country. I wonder what percentage still do it today? Thanks for the link, Dave..
I was there volunteering and one thing I did was help park trucks with trailers. I can tell you there were maybe 20 trailers. I would say 90% were driven. It was very cool. There was a couple of original 32's that drove out from New York. They had a blast. We had many groups that toured hear from all over the US. We also had quite a few visitors from other countries which was awesome.
Yes , They were being driven all around the area from Reno to Virginia City ,Genoa , Gardnerville and all around the Roads circling Lake Tahoe. Was a Great Week ...
Since this thread has come back to life I would like to thank you for posting,,all the cars look great! This is a event I would like to see some day. HRP
