Good afternoon ..........I'm outside looking at my 49 fleetline and notice that the tires look like they should be on a monster truck, their tall. They are 15",so my question is what size tire/rims are you running ? My plan is to run disc brakes up front and lower the car I don't know if this makes a difference .........

215's on 15" in front. They fit just fine. You can even go a little taller if needed.

There is a pretty decent conversion chart here http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/45_conversionchart.html that shows how bias sizes stack up against radial sizes of various section widths.

I always thought the 7.10 15's on the back of my 51 Merc when I bought it were huge but they ended up being the same size as the 215-75-15's I ran on it years later. I rather like the looks of the 6.70's /205's size wise on the Chevys though.

I dig the 205/75 14's, they look good on anything.

On my 50 Fleetline I am running BFG 205/70-15 in front and 225/70-15 in the rear on stock rims

  18. Even though I have 205s on the front I liked it with 195s as well. I ran those until a crackhead slashed about 30 tires in our alley. It was ok in the end, skinny neighbor chased him down with his car and almost got him!
