Technical outside mirrors on a mild custom

Those mirrors look great Paul. I was looking at some like that for my truck but decided they might not work where I wanted to put them.

 

That was the style when I was a young buck. Dual mirrors on the fenders were a mark of a mild custom that I saw a lot of.

Cars look better without mirrors: just like cars look better without seams, and without handles. On a "street" custom, you'd probably run them, but on a high end custom they're gonna be absent.

i love the look of the car without the mirrors but am going to drive the snot out of her and do think the mirrors are a necessity so i need something that fits the mid fifties era. Paul those mirrors are sweet post up the link for all of us please!

I've been without mirrors on my 52 for years. Not really that big a deal, turn your head before you get over and you'll be fine. I've seen early customs with and without mirrors, historically I'd think you could go either way. It's just what suits "the look" your after. I found most of the small round mirrors that look cool are barely functional at best anyways.

 

It may not be a big deal in Texas where I see they require one mirror that you can see behind the car for 200 ft with but here in this state it is an instant cause for the state patrol to pull you over. This state requires two mirrors, either one on the inside and a left mirror or two outside mirrors.
With the blind spots in the mirrors on the box with wheels I have been driving to work I'd hate to drive in the traffic that I drive in with no mirriors on the outside and at 66 years old my head doesn't turn too fast unless it's a damned hot redhead walking down the street.
