From the Howard Gribble Collection And as shown on the previous page.. Sam Barris master piece the "El Capitola"
I must say- unlike Eric Clapton, I DON'T get off on '57 Chevys, but even so there are some very cool ones on this thread. The late '50's early '60's full custom versions are incredible! Not sure about that Nova thing, though.... I don't know which to feel worse for, the '57 that got chopped up, or the Nova that has to spend the rest of its existence looking like THAT!
I agree with ya, they had a feature in Rod & Custom magazine a while back but I want to see more. Build pics would be way too kool... Ha, ha,... I agree it might have been easier to ad the '57 Chevy dip in the door of a '54 Merc, but it wouldn't be as kool... Happy trails, Mick
I have spent my HAMB time over the weekend utilizing the search function. Forgive me for the old thread. But does anyone have any more pictures of this 57 chevy? I have never been a huge 57 chevy fan. But seeing the custom treatment applied to some has started sway my previous thinking. Thanks.
jeeezuz! what the hell is wrong w/ these hi-tek waste of old tin! i all for an open mind, and cant give 2 shits about cut off years, but enuff is enuff! if you want a new car,get a new car, and leave old cars to guys that appreciate them and enjoy them. Fritz survivor is unreal, i really hope hes gonna get to it one day. why is he banned anyway? This is great too:
its hard to believe there is one of these in the world let alone 2 yeah there is one almost exactly like that rolling around here i about puked the first time i saw it its even flatblack
Some outstanding custom '57s on here so far... (some not to my taste - but that's me). I like Fritz's as it reminds me of this one: Benny Vigil's VIGILant out of New Mexico (Popular Customs says it's Fire Mist Blue). Wonder if it's still around or if anyone (Rikster?) has a colour pic? -Dave
Nosed and decked 57's are everywhere but cruise this down the street and everyone would know it was a custom.
