Just purchased a 30 Tudor with some nice artillery wheels on it, but I would really like to go with a staggered setup.

Let's see some pictures of staggered fenderless rods, here is a picture of the car as it sits now:

  2. I'd just paint those black and mount a set of big & little blackwall 'Stones....

Those red wheels and wide whites are totally killing, what looks to be, an otherwise pretty nice looking car.

  3. Nice car, but the red sure clashes with the paint. Some chrome solids would work well, with blackwalls. The reds gotta go, even just painting them black, untill you find your new wheels.

Maybe he means larger diameter in the rear. If that is the case, there is a Plymouth type artillery like the ones he has but in 17". A pair of those in the rear would probably look pretty good. Also paint them black, or maybe a cream color would look good.

Sorry guys, my background is mostly in 80's euro cars so "staggered" to me means wide in the rear and narrow up front, I have to educate myself on the hot rod terms!

Here is a pic that shows off the narrow rear wheels:

  7. Nice car..... & keeping it "traditional", you don't even need wider rear wheels.

Unless you're just aching to buy new wheels, you only need tires and some paint on what you already have.

I was thinking about spray bombing the wheels body color and buying some chrome "domes" (smoothie hubcaps?) to hide most of the wheel, so there will be a small reveal of brown.

Yes it does look nice and traditional, but I have seen this and really like how the staggered setup looks:

Black spokes def. look nice. I'm a fan of Halibrands myself. I've had a set of 16" spokes for this car for a long time, but I always worry that its too much for them and will destroy them.

    Wow, your car looks awesome!

I like the color choices and the channel with no chop looks awesome coupes!

I'm kind of worried about the lake style headers my car has right now with the law around my area, I was thinking about rigging up something similar to yours with maybe a by-pass valve.

  21. No doubt, that looks great. I'm always hunting the cheapest route I guess. ;)

If it were mine, I'd be looking at big & little tires and paint.

Big and littles on the same diameter rim is the way to go.

can't go wrong with black steelies and caps. Keep the wheels the same width and just use tire size for the height/rake. It's a sedan, you don't need much.

I know this is all over the internet, but does anyone have the particulars on the wheel/tire combo/size? 700x18s?

This is the setup on my sedan. This picture is when it was under construction. Wheels are wheel vintiques deluxe's. Rear tires are yokohama ry215 and the fronts are firestone f560 155. In my opinion these are a decent radial alternative and fit the car pretty nice.
