What gauge short of a adjustable torpedo level is decent to use? Any reply would be great. I roughly set the caster on a project Im doing with a torpedop level but would like to be closer before I build the upper radius rods. This s on a quarter ellpt. spring front end.
I use a couple old Craftsman magnetic base pointer style protractors. No batteries and sufficiently accurate for this application. It's not rocket science.... Charlie
I got a alignment gauge from Speedway...Works great for me http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Economy-Caster-Camber-Gauge,2699.html
You can spend $10 all the way up, for an angle finder. Here's an inexpensive one.... http://www.zorotools.com/g/00055345...kw={keyword}&gclid=CNr6ivz39rkCFQ6k4AodklwAtA
roughly... deff. not trad. but my stanley level I- phone app really is pretty darn close cant believe i said that....
Thanks everyone. Im pretty close with the adjustable torpedo level. Wanted to see what everyone else was using.
Mr. Dan Webb gave me one of these years ago and told me you can't build a frame without one. He was right. I use the hell outta that thing.
For 35 bucks for the one from Speedway that TheMoose gave the link to i'd go for it after reading the instructions for it. It does take a bit of thinking while doing but it should be pretty accurate for most guys who pay attention to the instructions. The second and less expensive thing would be to use a magnetic protractor RL=http://s173.photobucket.com/user/mr48chev/media/stuff/Anglefinder.jpg.html][/URL] And follow the instructions for the Speedway gauge. http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf/910-82610.pdf I'm not sure if a discussion of positive and negative caster or camber or toe in or out is necessary but for those who need that= http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf/910-82610.pdf
