My pleasure! I knew you'd dig the Roadster and get a kick out of John.

Not to worry, it couldn't have landed in better hands. John's a true traditional kind of guy and has been his whole life. No threat of Rusty Rat Rawed here!

Hey Woodbutcher, to answer your questions...

    1. No not original paint or original block either. The one that was in the car was long lost to the elements.

    2. Sure looks like Norm's flattop haircut to me!

  5. Regarding the first car in this thread,

That is the most well proportioned 32 Ford I have ever seen, and it makes me drool.

I'm tired of 32 Fords, but that car is a huge exception.

Just now seeing this thread. I saw Evel's shots on IG and fell in love with it. The front end stance with the fenders is perfection.

  10. Does anyone know if this car is still for sale? I have a friend who tried to contact the seller, but he hasn't heard back from him in quite some time

Unfortunately, I have no new information. Perhaps you could contact MATACONCEPTS with a PM? He could be the last one to see anything about this car. I would also love to know it's fate.

I look forward, just like you guys, to seeing it rolling down the road under it's own power. When that does happen, I will for sure post some photo's.

This is Revell's 1/8 Roadster that I'm building, very much inspired by this car.

Some New pics for the thread. Here's a 32 Sedan that showed up at 808 Speed Shop recently. Marty didn't have a lot of info on this one yet, but it is definitely a Hawaii car and was at the 1957 First Hawaiian Motorama that was featured in a recent (January 2013) issue of Rod & Custom. As an interesting side note, this particular Sedan was chopped by John Figueroa's father. John is the current owner of the Roadster I started this whole thread about.

In these shots you can still see remnants of the original interior. The headliner is barely hanging on, but the metal flake vinyl used for the center strip is still doing its magic. The door panel also gives a hint to its former glory. It's uncertain as to whether this one will be restored to it's original show condition, but we've got our fingers crossed.

I was told these beautiful rolled pans were worked by hand over an acetylene tank. Sweetness!

Man thats one nice car! Wish I could have made it to the show yesterday.

  22. I love this car. Made it to page 133 in the newer Tom Cotter book ...Stan Kong you lucky bastard ! Haruo.jpg Haruo2.jpg
Haruo Morishige ... what else did you build ? Anyone know what happened to him ??

Amazing really. All this east coast versus west coast stuff in regards to channel/section/chop ... I guess it's possible to go so far west, you're east ... or vice versa. Hawaii. Crazy.

LUCKY444 you rock man !!! Thanks for all the great pics' !!

Hey guys, just found this thread while looking for information on this rod, the Haruo Morishige roadster. I ran across it at the RPM Nationals, parked in the Car Show area. It wasn't getting a lot of attention, but it sure caught my eye. I spoke with the current owner of the car who filled me in on the history of it. I posted these pics on the RPM Nationals photo thread, but they haven't gotten hardly any response, only 1 person liked them. I figured you guys here would surely appreciate seeing them. Enjoy!
