Motion Pictures who has their car in a movie?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by fuzzybear, Nov 9, 2012.

  1. The '34 Ford roadster in "Rebel without a cause" belongs to a guy in Missouri. I don't want to "out" him, maybe one of his close friends will do that for us. Tim

I didn't know "Cold Turkey" was on Youtube. I thought that might be the train in Adair but it doesn't look quite the same.

Our 1960 Mercury and my brother's 1964 Buick Wildcat were both in "Cold Turkey". Of course my brother didn't own the Wildcat at the time but he bought it off the original owner about 27 years ago.

In part 4/7 there is a good shot of Dad in the Mercury at 10:04. The Wildcat is on the left.

In part 5/7 the Wildcat drives by at 10:12.

In part 6/7 there is a good shot of the Mercury at 11:00. :)
At 4:02 there is a green Buick with Taxi in the window, that was the actual Greenfield taxi service at the time. There was an old lady who drove people around in that Buick. :)

My reproduction of BuddyKrebs 502 appeared in the "Ultimate Nascar" video series as a prop for a segment on Bill France, showed old "Bill" in his shop working on it. Was a hoot to see it.

There was a movie called The Solder that was filmed in Buffalo NY back in the early 80's

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084704/

Anyway, my father was a heavy duty truck salesman and they needed a truck to blow up at the end of the movie, so he sold them the truck and it even had his dealer plates on it...He was dressed in and part of a scene that never made it to the movie but we have a pic somewhere....in one scene a fight breaks out in a cowboy type bar and it moves to the outside and there were a bunch of local hot rods in the lot, we were supposed to have the 36 there but we never did, I am pretty sure the Gooney Brid Custom was in it, at the time it was Orange...

My 71 Fargo pickup appeared in a black comedy called The Michelle Apartments. The scene was a bunch of Shriners in Hawaiian shirts riding in the back of the truck waving sparklers.

Their driver couldn't drive a 3 on the tree so I ended up driving lol. We shot the scene 7 times, it ended up as 5 or 10 seconds on the screen.

Also in the movie were some nice local muscle cars, Dwight Vorsteveldt's 1 owner Hemi Challenger and a few other similar cars. They got $50, I got $250 + a tank of gas for my beat up truck lol.

By the way the name of the town in the movie is Walton, in the script it was something different but they changed it because the Walton Hotel was in the movie and it was cheaper to change the script than change the sign. The Walton Hotel was also known as the scene of the Mike Matiyek biker gang murder. This is in my home town of Port Hope.

None of mine were ever worthy of being seen, but I did rebuild the engine of my uncle's '65 Impala so it could be in the movie about the singer Selena, never saw the movie though.

My old roadster was in 60's movie Hot Rods to Hell.

  12. Never had a car in the movies but I've had a good time in a car at the drive-in movies! :D HRP

  13. Owned Andy's Instant "T" in 1975, until 1978, and again from 1999 to 2001.
It was in the Led Zepplin film The Song Remains the Same.

The film was shot just before John took out the Cub Barnett engine.

I bought the car on Christmas Day 1975. The film came out Oct 1976.
I did not know that the car was featured in the film until I went to the film premier with John.

Picture of my Center Door, which after a quick rebuild in 1998 to get it back on the road, I hated it.
So when I bought back Andy's "T" in 1999 I stripped down and rebuilt the Center Door to how it is now.:D

My (OT) 67 Toyota Landcruiser was driven by Katherine Crawford in the pilot for Gemini Man (76) She lost control, hit a bridge abutment & laid it on it's side. Cost Universal $5K to fix it after it was returned..

  18. My car is in so many movies. It's always getting photographed, usually when I go through a speed camera, that is...

    Fun thread! Keep em coming!

I've been watching a new tv show set int the fifties and noticed that the prop guys didn't find enough "boring" cars for the show. In their world everyone is driving brand new rag tops and sports cars. I think the oldest car I've seen was a shoebox Ford.
