Clayton, I have hoses and clamps coming for the radiator Friday. I came in the shop Sunday evening just looking to clean up some hardware and got a most. Excellent surprise seeing that engine all nestled down in the frame. Hopefully Saturday we can make big dent in getting her back on the road again.

CrazyBillyBob, I have been following you guys on the build of your coupe. Lots of familiar mods there. Looking really cool. Would love to get our three cars together sometime.

    Chris,
I would love to get all three t's together when they are all running. It will just take a little planning and a roadtrip!

How about Bonneville, again, for the start of the next 100 years of racing. Just thinking out loud. Love the progress you guys are making.

August 12th 2014 marks the 100th anniversery of Teddy Tetzlaff's historic speed record of 142.85 mph in the Blitzen Benz...the first such land speed run on the salt of Bonneville.

Thank you Rapid Rob for schooling me on the subject :D

What Clayton said. Sounds like a good reason for another epic journey to the salt.

I'd be up to it but I 'm not sure if the better half would let me go! Might have to see if I can talk her into it. I missed being down there this year.

    *UPDATE*
    Radiator cap a go-go..

Chris forwarded these to me last night and asked me to post them.

We wanted to do something different with the radiator cap this time around and wanted to work in a Moto-Metor for water temp. Not wanting to drill a hole in the original brass Durrant cap we have for the car, Chris decided to build a new cap just for the Moto-Metor that I was building (will have a post on that soon).

Here are the beginnings of the cap with Carston's help:

Also have the bands installed and the engine mostly sealed up....won't be long now...

I hope those pics were staged. I'm calling the safety police, don't see eye protection on that young lad. Otherwise, go Chris go!

I would suspect they are....that is a big rule in the shop, eye and ear protection.

Slowly but surely hope to get some more hours on it this weekend. Got the Warford in and repairing some bad welds on my equalizer cross shaft and service brake cross shaft which we built hastily in the car just before we left to Bonneville.

    *UPDATE*

A bit farther in the right direction..

Got a bit more done this weekend. The "Special" is about 95% assembled and hopefully (with some luck) we will hear it run in the next 2 weeks or so.

Here are a few shots from last night:

    *UPDATE*
    More radiator cap fun...

Chis is making more progress on the radiator cap on week nights. He made a plug to simulate the radiator neck for test fitting of the new cap after the internal threads are cut....something he should have done in the next few days.

Chris has been hard at work in the machine shop finishing the radiator cap, cutting finger grooves and shaping the domed top. Here is the latest:

Thanks TNA! Lot of fun to build. I learned a lot. My Dad taught me the basics on how to run our lathe and mill and Troy has been helping me refine my skills and make some truly unique parts. I liked it so much I have to make a matching gas cap now.

Well it is getting closer. Finished re doing the fuel system this evening, new 12 volt Auto-pulse fuel pump and Filto-Reg. In the process we put in new copper fuel lines and re routed them along the left side of the frame rails....[IMG]

finally finished the radiator cap and built a new oil cap just to be different...

So slowly but surely she is going back together.

Start on the wiring harness this weekend...

Hopefully before Christmas we'll hear her run for the second time!!
