    Thanks for the comments guys!

Brigrat, I started with a bare cab only, everything else is collected parts. My cowl is a Ford, not a Chevy, but the cab looks similar to what you have there.

Starting to smooth the frame and adding some primer. I flipped it over and shot the bottom first, the pic shows it right -side up. Still need to cap the rails at the front and add some boxing plates.

Today I got the old bearings off of the axle shafts, cleaned the hubs and rattle-canned them.

More floor...Looks like all my previous pics were deleted? Is that a timed-out sort of thing or because nobody was interested in my build?

It looks like your image hosting service, Snapfish, has deleted your account or changed their server address. Worst case you need to change all the image links manually. Or just start a new thread with new image links?

EDIT: BTW, curious to your build, but it's hard without pics... :)

Thanks Hansa, that made sense, I'm not real swift on this new-fangled computer magic. I went back and re-inserted some of the pics.

When I saw the title I thought you were going to run a Hercules motor~now that would have been different! I have to say though, the nailhead is waaaay more bitchin'!

Thanks for the comments guys! Thought I'd do a little update here since it's been so long. Not a lot that's pic worthy but I have made some progress. Got my cowl support structure made up to hold the steering box, getting the front end set, steering arms, tie rod etc. Got the Buick drums machined to fit the brakes. Had the rear wheels widened and got the bigger tires on there.

What do you guys think about the bed height?

  13. Sweet! It is looking great! I think the bed height looks right on in your pictures. The wheel/ tire combo looks bitchin' too. Go! Go! Go!!!

Hey folks, I know it's been a while since I posted any progress. The past year or so has been a hell of a ride for me.

Getting ready to get back on my project. I have made some progress, I've been a little lazy about posting pics. Suspension and steering are finished aside from some bugs to work out. Floor and trans tunnel done, radiator is in position-had it made at a local shop$$$. Headlights are mounted, tail lights and turn signals mostly figured out. With just a few more details I'll be ready to blow it apart for paint.

Hammered on this poor old tailgate all day today trying to get it straightened up. Pretty happy with it.

Instrument panel. This will get an "engine turned" finish. Eventually.

Repainted the engine and tranny. I have most of the truck apart now for "finessing" and paint. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1431822962.208992.jpg
