Here are the mods to the front suspension to install the model A axle I already had. I removed the original front crossmember, removed the original spring buckets and replaced them with 2x3 tubing. I then grafted in a aftermarket 36 ford front crossmember.

Mocked up the motor mounts and trans crossmember. Then pulled body off frame to allow frame to me cleaned and painted. Also finished gutting the interior of the body.

And this weekend I moved the existing middle crossmember forward 10" and grafted in a loop for a driveshaft safety loop. I also finished mocking up my front suspension. There will be more soon.

Thats cool. I'm building a 1950 Stude business coupe myself. I'd be curious about the fiberglass parts too.

Any Stude build has my attention. Next I'm over to the wet side, I'll give you a PM and hope to meet you and see the project.

FWIW, the 2x4 WCFBs will make more horses than the trips.

It's your build, but what that Stude really needs is a poked and stroked Packard V8 with a U-Fab tunnel ram and an aluminum flywheel. The close-ratio Ford toploader bolts right up using an extended pilot bearing. I have one NOS Isky 505C flat tappet cam left. DynoSim says the 505C makes its power 5,000 - 7,000 RPMs; about where the Olds or the Packard loses the main bearings. We could run head's-up and see which one wins the most before it dies. ;>)

The nose was made by a guy locally for a 51 he is building. It was a spare he had and i got lucky getting it.

Man that's cool! Had a chance to buy one of those at a local junk yard for $400, but it need more work than I could give it... Not to mention my parents saying an car I have must run ( it didn't have a motor). Have regretted it ever since! Good luck on a sweet car!

I got the fuel cell mounted again. After looking at the first mount set up a couple times I decided to move the tank forward a bit.

Here is a pic from the front showing the new brackets which will also eliminate any chance of the tank shifting side to side.

Been busy with work but got a couple of things updated. Started checking some of the body seams where there was some bubbling under the paint. Nice 1 x 8 x 3/16th in stip of lead on the one seam. finished up weling the fuel cell mount and almost done with the front of the chassis. Hoping to get it done and painted soon. I will post more pics when I can.
