On 1940-48 hubs, the stock stud threads seem a little short when using mag or aluminum wheels. Does anybody know the maker and number of longer studs that will press in the original holes? Or do I re-drill the hubs? The shoulders of the original studs measure +- .630" in diameter. Thanks!
A decent parts house / store has studs listed by size in a picture book and the counter guy has calipers
There are 2 styles of studs used one with splines and the other a smooth body with a clipped head. Only time I ever saw a length issue was when using Buick drums which are a lot thicker than any all steel/iron ones. As said lookee in bookee! Dorman does a good job with dimensions.
