Thats sarcasm, right? I'm usually not a moon disc guy but it really looks period...nice work! JohnnyA
didn't know I liked East coast cars,, guess I am learnin,' not where they are from , but how the look. Love the look... grabs me !! thanks.
Thanks for the comments guys yea I thought it looked like that blue one too but that ended up being a racer that's for sale on here off all places in a dark blue with red highlights Posted from Ar
Just got this vintage shift knob with moving eyes for the roadster Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well..."putted" them back off and go back to the Ford ones Those snap on "Moon" disc are not correct for yout period car
I just did.....really.....seems as many others feel the same way too. Those "moons" belong on your car about like a set of 20" Boyds.
I dont like the Moon caps on your car. Not a time frame thing, just a style thing. Your car is such a beautiful roadster, real classy. Those caps scream all race style, but the car humbs the chorus from; Your gorgeous. (The Babybird song) Sorry, especialy if you love them. The Best set, for me at least, is the '54 Ford caps. Then second the Olds covers, from page one. And third would be Flipper covers. Moon caps would be between 8-10. I like those Full Moon Caps, but for a bonneville style car. And again, I freaking F@cking love your car! It's SO beautiful.
Keep the mooncaps if you like them. They fit allmost any era from late 40:s to present. And the snap on discs started to be advertised in the magasines in mid 50:s.
Since some of you guys didn't like the moon caps I installed 57 Plymouth cone caps I like the look From Austinrod
Here's another pic I had too rotate too look right Plus they wouldn't fit properly I had too use a rubber mallet to beat the retention taps in a little Got them from speedway From Austinrod
I personally liked the moon discs because it added to the toy like look of the car that channelled cars kind of inherently take on being brightly colored, low to the ground with a disproportionately large mill. As illustrated in these period model car illustrations. Now with that being said the new hubcaps add if for nothing more than that little pop of color around the hubcap. Looks more correct now than ever. My single only complaint would be the new outta the box speedway headlights...car needs an old set of chromed headlights like say king bees or a set of 903-Js with the little glass marker light on top. Then it'd be pretty hard to distinguish from a little book feature car from the late fifties early sixties. JohnnyA
On a damn smart phone......but did you do anything to your column? Maybe add a drop mount, or use a quick change steering wheel. Several ways to do so. Thinking it was more of a comfort issue, maybe? I dig it. Fukn' awesome lil' roadster.
