6. ..........................................................I've never asked a pinup girl to pose with my "29, they or their producers ask me and it's a compliment to me. I would have done the same in the early days
It makes for some outstanding pix of the car! Today and then they were a part of automobile shows;)

In post 79710 there is a pic of a 3 wheeled car, anyone know what that is?
I had a model of one when I was growing up in the early '60's. The front wheeled steered with a joy stick. I would like to find that kit again.

Fifth pic down is the only pic of a "Mullins Red Cap Trailer I've seen in this thread. This pic I've seen in Bob Parmalees book. Only 1000 made between 1935/1936

  14. I some what agree with "Randomrodder". I to have seen the thread change with all the "tomatoes" posts. There is not a thing wrong with an attractive female posing with an old car or whatever. However, when the pics border the early days of "Playboy" magazines, then I think it's is time to step back. My .02.
Plus I have no idea who the vixens are w/o any caption.
If you want soft porn then go to to it, this is where this might end up. Let's keep this great thread going!

Seen this posted before but what a slick design. Maybe too pretty for a gasoline truck, but I want one! Was there only one?

The bubble top '59 El Camino in post #79710 was built by Tom Holden owner of Kustom's Unlimited in Chesterfield, MI. He and his son Troop, who may well be pictured behind the car, are still building and painting cars today. What a pleasant surprise to see an old friend on this post!

Now that I think about it, Tom did some paint work on my car pictures in my avatar.

That's the two-wheeled Ford Gyron, designed by Alex Tremulis and built by Tremulis, Syd Mead and others, and then finished off by Elwood Engel. Those outrigger wheels were for stability when it was parked. It was intended to be gyro-stabilized, but that never came to be. It eventually evolved into the Tremulis-designed Gyronaut X-1, the land speed record-setting motorcycle that held the record as the World's Fastest Motorcycle from 1966 to 1970.

  22. Heres an old photo of our White Rose service station that we've restored, the photo was taken sometime in the 60's when it was a Shell service station.

We can see that a deciduous shade tree is present in the upper left side of the picture. We also notice that at least two cars are present in the lower right part of the picture parked on what we can only assume to be a parking lot or a driveway. In the foreground, four men are examining the steam engine, all of which are wearing conductor-like caps. We also notice that the tracks on which the engine sits do not continue through to the right side of the picture. In the background, the Municipal building is made of stone and there is detailed work around the eves of the building, one chimney is present and the windows look boarded up by wooden sheets. Season summer.

Since I have viewed every page of "Vintage shots from days gone by!" I have noticed that most posters here have very Selective Memories when they pin for "Good old Days"
