This weekend I attended the Springfieldd Ohio swap meet and purchased this fender. I am not sure what it is for and would like some help from the HAMB pros in knowing what I now own. Thanks much!

Can you post a full side shot? The apron to running board looks very short, a feature that may help ID it. Bob

    Only shots I have

  4. Looks like a truck fender, to me, but some passenger car fenders had that raised hump off of the apron.

  5. id say they are whippet fenders...or chevy...look identical to my 28 whippet...chev very similar...

There is a seam where the fender top and the apron come together for spots welds. It is not all one piece

  7. The front apron isn't cut back or as curved as on the Whippet and the rear on the Whippet goes down at a straight angle instead of curvy. It is really short looking. That is why I think it may be for a truck.

Yes i looked at some last night and agree with 31 dodger. The rear base is longer on this one . Did Whippet make a sedan? Anyone? Pictures? That may be where the longer fender plays in. most of the Chevys have a border stamp line around the edges in the fenders . This one is smooth. The front tip is similiar however on Chevy

  9. whiipet truck has roll like that...rest o fender is identical to 28...27 had bead in fender..28 smooth to speed up production line....checkout http://carnut.com/

I have to ask, why did you buy it if you didn't know what it fit?

At least I now know that I'm not the only one who buys unknown parts at swap meets...

  17. Somebody probably put it out for $5 or $10 to try to get rid of it because they didn't know what it was for either.

For the time to post it on here and find out what it is, maybe the guy can make $50 or $100 out of it.

  24. Didn't somebody post that AACA link in the beginning of this thread?

Don't tell them you're a hot rod guy or that you think it's worth anything and you'll be okay.

Thanks 31 Dodger, that short apron looks like a feature used up till 1928 by NASH. Lots of good photos in The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942. Bob
