Lucky dog! Surely those wheels & tires haven't been on the car for 30 years, chrome steelies with not a speck of rust?
Correct sir, ford sold way more Well I obviously cleaned them Yessir, eventually I did get her running
Sometime good stuff just happens. Congrats on your find and keep us up to date. I like the fact that its got an FE and that you were able to get it running. Subscribed.
Awesome score, no matter were you are there's always some good junk lying around in someone's garage. And you never know what may be hiding where at, it's all about being in the right place, at the right time, and most importantly having the cash on the spot to get it while the gettins good.
I owned a house on Greenlawn Ave from 1974 - 1983. Several guys on my block had hot rods. I remember that East Dayton was gear-head heaven. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
My first engine change was a 57 convertable, blew it up in my Mom's driveway doing burnouts...nice find man, no rust is unbelievable.
Cool find for sure. Glad you could get the car away from those mouth breathing, toothless & shirtless losers (who just lost their father) and back into a properly educated neighborhood.
Back then I had a 1955 Chev 4 door. wagon. Man what a sleeper, it had a built 327 and a four speed. It was painted Iguana Turd Green before I bought and I never changed it. I think of that car often. I ran it hard on the street and never got a ticket while driving that car. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Nice score Steve! Hope to see this thing out running around town. You must have a knack for this type of thing!
Yep. they were pure white trash. Might have scrapped the car, it was mentioned by one of them....it was 10 AM and they were drunk/drinking....complete losers, bottom feeders.... You dont live in Dayton, you wouldnt understand.
I know my memory isn't what it used to be but I don't remember seeing that car at the Country Kitchen in the old days or at Hail & Hearty or Hamburger Heaven in the later years. Don't remember it out at KilKare or up at Pense's. I usually paid attention to the Fords back then. I'd like to see it though.
Nice find, can't wait to see some good outside shots. So are you a '57 Ford guy, or will this be a flip?
The ONLY way your story could have been better, is if it was a SEDAN, and not a hardtop. How about a 406, tri-power type of build? Butch/56sedandelivery.
