Can I make my '37 Nash a mild custom?

This whole HAMB "Focus" has really got me thinking about the Nash. Although I love the Art Deco lines of the car, even having the engine hopped up (350 sbc) will never REALLY make it a hot rod. If anything people will mistake it as a street rod.

I would love to make the Nash a mild custom. I really don't think a tail dragger would work for this car. I would like to avoid fender skirts if at all possible too. Other than that I might be up for just about anything.

Do I leave the car alone? Any suggestions or photoshop alterations are encouraged.

    Where do I fit in????

    Stevie

Good looking car. If it was mine, I'd add skirts, caps, and spots, and go from there.

Oh yes it would...there's nothing wrong with a sedan dragging its tail...and the only way to achieve that look is with fender skirts...that's a must-have item...then lose the spiders and put some flipper hubcaps on it...take off the hood piece and some of the other extraneous emblems and you'll have a mild custom...and you're correct, it's not a street rod.

Hell yes it would make a great taildragger. The 37 Nash is one of the very, very best body designs of that era.

I don't think these had a full chassis, not sure, but it would be an issue if you went the v8 combo.Lowered,w/whites,red wheel-trim rings with caps, rear venetian and a visor= Cool,TMO anyway, good luck Gaz!

Already has the V8 and the frame is pretty beefy. MII installed which gives it the low front end.

Your car already has much the same feel as a Westergard custom.
Check his cars on KUSTOMRAMA, and ask what Harry would do.

Dropping the headlights into the fenders would go a long way toward the look. Removing the running boards is a possibility. Skirts, and the proper stance would set the nail.

(Your car looks great already, BTW.)

If you're really up for anything, don't miss the fact that the Chevy above has had its body line hammered out.
That's some hard-core Westergard chit right there! Subtle in effect, but puts the car (and builder) in a class by itself!

  16. Stevie,
With those lines it would make a great Bombita mang. I am serious here not joking as is my usual mod of operation.

Just think about that dude draggin ass and makin' some sparks. I am thinking along those lines with my '38 if no one buys it. We could be a club mang. Los Gueros. Tan chitos. Can I get a simon from ya.

    Hi Steve,
Skirts give the Nash a different look.

Haven't heard from you in a long time. Thanks again for setting me up with those trunk hinges!

I'm assuming those are fabricated fender skirts... ???

No they are original, one looked like it got run over and a friend fixed it, then I had it come off and I ran over it and he repaired it again.

  24. Stevie :D sorry for the chicano friend.

Los Gueros (pronounced wheros) = the white boys ( roughly)

simon (pronounced see moan) = yea baby!!!

its a form of spanglish, not really tex mex but a west coast dialect.

The missus actually already has the little dingle balls collected to run around the glass, we hung with the migrant workers when we were in high school, a lot. ;)

Were they on the car when you bought it? I've never seen a pair on a car or for sale. I'm assuming they were from an Ambassador...

I would go Bomb style.Skirts, visor foglights, and a bit lower. That way you didnt cut anything up,it will totally change the look and you can easily reverse the mods.

definitely move the headlights into the fenders. It may not seem like a big deal but I think it would go a long way in gaining custom props. Adding skirts will do more good than harm as well
