The Speedhunters report is indeed brilliant.

There is no way on earth i'm missing this next year, although I can see the places for the grid being gone within seconds once the tides have been checked and the date publicised.

I can't get enough of the reports and photographs that are filtering through.

Haha. Just watched it again and the poor bugger has got his tabard round his ears just before Marco drops the clutch.

    Fail!

Great pics and what a wonderful event. Would love to attend someday. Thanks for sharing. As to getting more publicity here in the states I would say it is just a matter of education. I saw this first on a posting on facebook, not JJ, then came on here to see if there was anything posted about it. Very glad there is. I was drooling over the video of all the cars coming back up the beach. WOW. I am inspired to get something like that going here. I live not to far from Lake Michigan in Wisconsin and am thinking there must be some long enough and wide enough section of beach to do that there. Of course we also have some rather brutal winter weather and could do the same thing on some frozen lakes if the folks here would be brave enough to bring the cars out that time of year. Great stuff, glad you could pull it off.

Absolutely fantastic weekend, I'm still pinching myself that it really happened and I got to run on the sacred sand at Pendine...Huge thanks to Neil and the VHRA for making this happen!
And Nifty, you really do have to be there next year mate, your coupe would have been right at home on the sand
    Great pics everyone

Everyone here in the VHRA has been beside themselves with anticipation, ever since this was announced at least six months ago. We knew it would be good, but as the weekend unfolded and we actually drove on to the sand, it hit home how lucky and honoured we were to be racing hot rods on Pendine Beach.

A point not yet mentioned, it was the local authorities at Pendine that got in touch with the Neil at the VHRA and invited our cars back to the beach, not the other way around. (They had also passed over a few other clubs too). Just about all the locals welcomed the event with open arms, including a few pensioners who were children last time around and just about remembered the last time cars ran on the beach.

If you're near Michigan - how about a run on a frozen Lake StClair in honour of Henry Ford's daredevil run on the '999'.

Here's a few of my photos from the great event at Pendine (I've posted others on the other thread and there are loads more in the gallery)...

Thanks very much. What I'll do tomorrow (when I have a better internet connection) is upload them (and others which I didn't put on Flickr) to Photobox so that people can choose their own sizes and prints etc - I've had quite a few requests!

[IMG] Who owns this roadster? I want to know what brand and size the rear tires are, and if they are available over here...also what size the rear wheel is and where he got it. I can see the front tires look to be 6.00x16 Goodyears, but the rears are much taller and they seem to almost match the front tread design.
