    Ha!:D

After getting some advice from a trusted flathead machinist friend, Charlie Schwendler, this is what I'm doing. First I mark each chamber in the head with white chalk, throw the head on and loosely thread in a few head bolts. Roll the engine over a few times, watch the head hop around, and then pull it off. Now I have witness marks where the pistons are contacting the head. I use my air powered angle grinder with a roloc disc to remove material in the contact areas. Its slow going but it only removes it where it needs to and it will keep the quench area tight and accurate. Much moreso than a flycutter we think.

I "flycut" the heads on my coupe on a drill press with a home made jig using sticky emory paper. Measuring depth with a depth mic. Kind of slow with having to keep measuring........Then I cc the whole thing relieving the sprark plug area to even it all up. Kind of Farmerized but worked for Burt Munro.....

Haha, I wish, lots of progress, but a few setbacks as well... Including, but not limited to:

No room for a stock generator under that hood, I'm working on solid mounting a small one off an MG with a custom gen pulley and an idler/tensioner pulley... pain in the ass.

I did manage to get the halibrand quickchange all set up and assembled, the driveshaft shortened, and the brake lines all run. New kingpins installed, steering box rebuilt, some other misc stuff... won't be long!
