Look what followed me home from car show on Labor Day. To Do's, Add a Fulton style Visor, Skirts, get her down in the weeds, for starters. New Toy, I'm a HAPPY MAN, Been looking for a Merc for quite a while. John
Nice. Visors are butt ugly on those Mercs though. They take away from the clean look of the body. Auto Zone customizing of the 50's if they had Autozone then.
Nice job on picking up what appears to be a nice car. Let's start a TO DO list for you... haha. 1. Get the back end down, cause it's way too high, and its not a muscle car. 2. Chrome bumpers, trunk emblem, taillight bezels. 3. New chrome mirrors, because those 80's style aren't working. 4. Wide white walls 5. Buy Fulton visor. Install on your riding lawnmower. I like your car. I'm envious because you can already drive yours.
AND!....re-chroming the bumpers, headlight rings and tallight bezels? Oh....ditch those stupid mirrors too, haha Looks like a straight car. Nice deal! Interior shots? Engine? I'll add you to the HAMB Merc Club....check out the thread.
Thank you guys for the positve comments and the parts venders list. Will join the Merc club today and YES, I LIKE CHROME, its in future updates plan. Now I've owned car, 4 days, still thinking on plan details, I have my vision for the car and will post pics in future when it happens. John
Congrats - Cool ride. always hard when you first get a new toy and making the changes that will make it yours as quickly as possible. take the money that you planned to use for a visor to do something that will truly improve the looks.
I agree with the others--- remove the paint and/or get some chrome bumpers, tail light bezels, and other brightwork on that thing. IMHO visors only look good on cars with Continental Kits, and Continental Kits don't look good on Merc coupes. Sedans, maybe, but not Coupes.
