Building them both up over the next little while... The R130 is getting a 7.3 diesel and I'm thinking on a big block Ford for the R160.

Here's my 53. I pulled the cab off today. Cant wait to get it to the sandblaster and then off to get powder coated. I post some picture of the frame tomorrow with the BBC and t56.

Last Saturday I came across a 1960 1/2 ton short bed step side for sale. Good running condition, all original with rebuilt V8, no dents, no rust, needs paint (or has 'patina' if you prefer), good original interior. $4k.

Sound about right? Sorry no pic, I was busy buying a bunch of other crap he was selling.

I am planning to drain and replace the oil, fuel and coolant assuming nothing leaks too badly and replace the battery, plugs and wires and clean inside the dizzy cap. I'll put some WD-40 down each cylinder while the plugs are out and will have a can of 'start ya bastard' handy too

My AA110 just required a fresh battery and fuel, a wire to the coil, and shorted across the starter. Started :)

when I got my 49 it had been stuck in berry briars for 20 years and it started up with 10 min.s of work cleaning ,fresh gas in carb. and a jump from a 12V batt. It ran for 35 years with that same eng and only had to replace the water pump. It now has a small block Chev and a 9" rearend and runs a little faster on the freeways.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get it home and get into it. Get it to go, get it to stop then get rid of the rust and get it registered.

I'm trying to sell my '58 right now. Having a rough time getting it gone right now. If it doesn't sell soon i'm just going to continue restoring it. Any tips on floor pans? mine are pretty much GONE!

Just got this last week for a grand as a work truck at my property. Had sat for 3 years but fired right up and drove it home. Haven't had time to mess with it, just needs a few things. Not a scratch in it! L170, 5 speed with 2 speed rear.

    Yeh mate,
Stock chassis and suspension minus a few leaf springs, original drum brakes, steering box etc all rebuilt where needed. Motor is a nice healthy 265 Hemi with 3 speed stick and stock diff.
It was originally a tow truck, reason for sliced rear ! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1382518787.804213.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1382518814.736330.jpg

Kustomism thanks. A hemi L6 what is that from. We don't have them here I the States.

And 70cst1 that is an awesome rig I love it.

I'll admit I was so enthusiastic with my truck when I first got it but now it's worse then a heroin addiction I can't get enough of them.

Motor is out of a Valiant Charger which is an Aussie muscle car from the 70's
That was quicker down the 1/4 mile than the Ford & Holden V8's

I'm building an AB110 1/2 tonner which is a 62 - 66 Aussie styled International - keeping the body stock - lowering the front and rear as much as possible with the stock set up - poly 318 mopar AX-15 5 speed box and a steering box out of a Mitsubishi Pajero to give us better steering box and power steering plus disc brakes on the front. I love it because its different

i don't think i posted any pics since i redid my 50. all new drive train 350, 350 trans, 10 bolts posi w/4wheel power disc brakes, MII front end w/dropped spindles, boxed frame, C notched rear. love the long bed for obvious reasons, couldn't haul all this stuff to the swap meet with a short bed. use it all the time for dump runs, home depot runs, and to just toole around town. runs great, rides nice, overall fun truck to drive.

    /\ Nice job, Love it!!!

If I have my way I will be a binder owner by the end of this weekend. I am looking at a 65 Travelall. Solid truck from the pictures, only problem is my 63 F100 will have to go. My wife said only 1 shop truck. Nice thing is my boys can both ride with me in the Travelall. I want a crew cab truck but it is illusive around here.

I guess this is as good as any place to put this. If anyone ever needs it I have repair manuals, parts diagrams, and electrical schematics for R and L series. Blowby your post made me realise I'd never sharedvthis information here.
