Always wanted a Buick; I'm a lucky guy.

Always wanted a 50's Buick and missed a couple of deals. Recently I found one on Eb*y and was able to make a deal on it. I usually don't like buying other peoples problem project vechicles but this one seemed to be put together right. And I'm glad to say it was. It has a MII upfront and 9" Ford on airbags in the rear, 350/350 combo for power. Has disc brakes and power steering. Needs a few things but the major stuff is done and it drives nice.
Going to add heat/AC and update the interior some and drive the wheels off it. Oh, and I might change the wheels also. They are kinda growing on me though. It's a 52 Model 45R hardtop. Some pics included. Thanks for reading this.

 

I'm not a GM guy, but I've alwyas liked the early 50's Buicks. Nice score.

Great looking car! I'm not too big a fan of the wheels, though. Kinda makes it look like a kustom wanting to be a hot rod. But they still look good on there!

 

I am drooling a little bit. I've always had a love for the 50s Buicks, this one is a great color too. Can't believe you got it off the net...usually never have luck looking there. Congrats, hope you have some fun with it.

 

Looks like a real nice car! You say the wheels are starting to "grow on you"? I had a fungus like that once.

Take off the wheel spiners and try a plain center ,should look better.

 

I would get rid of the wheels asap.. the rest of the car looks pretty cool.

What do you mean update the interior? It looks pretty good to me. Nice and simple.

Thanks for the nice comments. I might try removing the spinners to see how it looks. My first thought was Caddy hubcaps but seems like every Buick/Mercury has them. The current wheels/tires are 17" and I'd like to keep the tires so that limits me. As far as the interior it mainly needs a headliner as the current one is pretty ragged.

 

17"....hmm,dont know what to say,got me there. how bout to trade them for some steelies..craigslist perhaps.

I love the looks of your Buick and I have been waiting for one locally to come up for sale. BTW I'm voting against those wheels

 

If those are American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels, those spinner center caps are a pretty expensive add-on. You might be able to make a little cashola just by selling the spinner caps!

She's a beaut Clark! The wheels may not look 100% traditional, but if you like em, keep em!!! Either way, cool car. Enjoy it, drive it!

Good looking car, ditch the spinners and start driving it. Run the wheels tires that are on it until the tread is gone - then replace them. That's traditional, use it up then upgrade.
