Any western Michigan guys remember a '29 roadster hot rod with the passenger door leaded shut?

Can't stop taking pictures of this thing, gotta get to DMV and get it legal. Would like to drive it to Wampsville car show but that's coming up fast.

Thanks, I had nothing to do with it Nick in Michigan put it together and yes he has a great eye. I have another thread asking Pa. hambers about the plaque on the car but I'll ask here also. Does anyone know any history on a club in Pa. called the Shafters?

  15. I can tell you that they had their plaques made some time in the 1950'60's by Chicago Metal Craft who used this pattern to make them from and they only had one run of plaques made by them:

They were called Bermuda Bells. When I was in High School in the 50's in upstate New York, a lot of the hot rods had them.

Is that a timing tag on the dash? What does it say on it, I may be able to locate some info for you.

Very nice ride. Congrats. What color is it, really? Dark green, black, or purple? He he. Gary

Forgot to add... yet another fender-less car with the rear quarter wells filled in. Love that. Gary

Well, it's kinda black with a little rust mixed in here and there. It's got nice fenders (on back anyway)

So good to see the love for this car. My father is Nick, the builder of the car. If I can answer any questions feel free to shoot them my way. Thanks Doodlrodz for all of the credit to my Pa. His attention to detail and period correctness is second to none. Glad to hear you are enjoying the car. It was sad to see it go. Enjoy the ride...

My pleasure, your Fathers work should be shared with the guys on here, it's just too good not to share. Every day when I go out to the garage I seem to discover a new detail that I didn't notice before. You can tell that he gave a great deal of thought and patience with each detail. I am very thankful that we could work out the deal and will do my best to keep it the way your Dad intended it to be.
