My first car was a 1966 Ford Fairlane 500, that I bought for $500 from my Uncle Jim. He was the original and third owner of the car. He sold it to the neighbor for a year or so and then bought it back. I was the fourth owner and the guy I sold it too totaled it out a few months later.

You guys paid way to much. 1968 I bought my first car, 1959 two door ford for $20.00. Drove it for 6 months, found a 1960 ford two door station wagon with a rod through the block and bought it for $5.00.. Pulled the engine from the 59 and put it into the 60.. $25.00 total for my first two cars..

Mine was a 48 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe. Drove it to high school in '84-'85. Had 43,000 miles on it. Price.... Free

I miss it. A guy stopped at my buddys shop where I was doing some work on it. Money talked and it was gone.

  9. My first was a 1947 Chrysler Royal Windsor, flathead 6 & fluid drive/semi automatic. My brother gave it to me for the $20.00 he owed me, what a tank! n.a.p.

Mine was a 56 chevy I got from my Grandpa for $300, in 1966. Drove it all through High School till I went into the Navy. Sold it. Then 5 years ago I bought a junker 56 and redid it to look just like my old one but more modern and I drive it every day, makes me feel 16 everytime I drive it .Pics of it are in my profile .

  12. Free 1931 Dodge Brothers business coupe from my Dad that he purchased in 1959 for $125.00. Gave it to me when I was 15 years old and still have it....I'm 60 now.

47 Plymouth 4door sedan, bought it for $150 in 1966, rebuilt brakes, replaced belts and hoses, tuneup and trouble free until I sold it for $450 just before I went in the US Coast Guard late in 1967. Bought it back about 3 years later for $150. Sold it again and tried for a decade to buy it back, then the guy moved andso did it I guess.

My first car was a 47 Chev Ragtop with a 324 inch Wayne head Jimmie 6. Paid 112.50 for it , guy wanted 125. this was in 1956. I was 14.

My first car was ALMOST a 40 Ford Ragtop with a full race 296 inch flathead , asking was 150.00. Told my dad about it , he asked "How's the motor" Told him "That's the best part, a full house flathead"! Next thing he said was " You ain't buyin' no hot rod Ford boy"!
When I found the Chevy , he asked the same thing , this time I just said "It's a 6 cylinder ". That did the trick!

75 Chevy pickup. Short bed stepside 4wheel drive with a 4 inch lift and some 33x9 tires. Also had a 300hp 350 paired with a sm465 4 speed and 205 t-case. Could never get that thing stuck.

Technically my first was a '56 Chevy 150. I got it when I was 12. Now, 23 years later, it appears that I may actually get it "finished". The first car that I actually owned and drove as a licensed driver was nice enough but nothing exciting('87 T-bird). I would have loved to have something older as my first driver, but by the time I was legal it was already getting hard to find a car with the right # of doors in my price range... at least one that seemed worth dragging home. The sad part is, all the stuff I passed on that relatively short time ago seems like nice cars/good deals compared to a lot of the junk I look at now.

  28. At fifteen,my first car was a 1934 Chevy standard 3 window coupe. Paid 65 bux for it in 1951...nice car that I ruined by channeling it ...drove it for about two years when I bought a '35 Ford tudor then bought a very nice Merc powered '36 Ford 3 w coupe...Lots of good memories!

53 Chevy two door sedan. I was 13 years old. The $15.00 I paid for it in 1963 was a paperboy's two week earnings if he hustled. I remember driving it home to this day as it needed to be jump started by pushing it and engaging the clutch. When I got it home my Dad said thanks & I think he drove it for a couple years as his daily. I don't think he ever paid me for it.
