Wow! Nice thread. Just finished the whole thing and ticked my wife off for being unsociable. It was worth it though.

Chop looks good, glad you didn't overdo it. Wondering if you have had formal training in fab work. Looks awful good. Keep going.

  10. Awesome work man! Maybe I missed it but what is the cam grind you went with for the 283?

Great skills. You will have them forever.

Just curious how it was to put the 32 grille on her? I want to do my 31 with the 32 grille any suggestions?

  21. Massive thank you to all the people that are saying nice things, i've been hugely overwhelmed with how well received my little build has been so far, and it's very very appreciated :)

Thanks dude! and no training at all really, just lots of trial and error and the occasional bit of advice from those more experienced than myself (of which there are plenty! haha)

Thanks so much mate, that is probably one of the best compliments i've ever had regarding this stuff, Makes the long hours seem so worth it when you put it like that. I absolutely LOVE your hemi T by the way, We clearly both have great taste haha.

It's the tamest out of the 3 Thumpr cams for sbc, i'm hoping that it gives the little 283 a little bit more attitude on idle compared to the stocker in there at the moment.

Piece of cake, buy one and slap it on!

  22. So for the past few days i've been battling with some seriously stuck door hinges. No amount of heat and penetrating spray would help, so out came the drill.

This is the top passenger hinge, there was no hope of the pin coming out so i had to drill in a bit from the top, and a bit from the bottom until i could get the top of the severed door off. Then drill out all three mounting screws to free it from the car then put it in the vice to drill the remainder of the pin out. Not fun at all.

I totally boned the holes for the three mounting screws, so i welded them up.

Then re-drilled them and tapped some threads for new stainless screws.

Much better! only 5 more to go....

Looking good, nice chop and nice fix on the door hinge. It always seems like there is atleast one stuck one out of the bunch.

Hot damn it pays to check in on the HAMB every now and again.

Rad coupe build buddy, attention to detail you've got in spades and it shows!

Forgot to ask the last time, did the chop stay at 2-1/2"? Or... what did it actually end up as? LOL. Gary

  27. Chop is 2" gary.

Got the door tops welded back on and finished well enough that they'll only need a very very light skim of filler to be nice and straight.

Onto the garnish mouldings next, and a chance to play with my new Tig welder :D
