Went to the Lemay auto collection open house today. A beautiful sunny northwest afternoon. Held in two locations, near Spanaway, Wa. The Lemay house is only open to the public 1 day a year. I've been told that the house alone had parking for 300 cars. When he ran out of room, Harold LeMay purchased Marymount which previously was a military academy, for the rest of his collection. At one time he had the world's largest car collection of about 3000 vehicles. There was a car show, swap meet and a car auction also going on. Here are a few pictures
Thanks for the pic's. Some neat stuff to see there. My brother is a volunteer at Marymount and we've been through that together when I was visiting but never been to the house. He goes every year and keeps telling me I gotta see it. Maybe next year. Steve
When I first saw it, I thought "What the heck is that" . After a little research I found there is some history behind that Nomad.
Buurrrrrp. My wife works there and brought me home some leftover food. Always super good. I have been through there many times.

Harold LeMay was a self made man who started with nothing and created several businesses. He owned the trash collection business in several counties, in western Washington, as as well as a couple of landfills, a towing business, and other businesses. Here is a short write up on the man. Pretty good for a trash man! Thanks for posting the pics. I had a chance to see the Lemay Museum in June when I took my wife to Seattle for a surprise 40th anniversary trip-one surprise was that she agreed to spend an afternoon looking at old cars. It's a pretty good museum-no spectacular but pretty good. I would love to see the rest sometime-might be a good excuse for another trip-I do have to come up with something for our 50th.
