Last car was a '29 A CCPU, ran an aluminum Olds 215 and a T5. Not a race winner, but plenty of zip to get on down the road, and very light. Used a 390 Holley - just right.
Currrent ride is a hammered '30 coupe, went to a 455 Olds (OT, but wanted torque) and a Muncie. Biggest challenge was steering and starter. Starter is on driver side, and I insisted on traditional (vs cross) steering. That made for some very tight fit engineering to mount the steering box (reversed Corvair). But it works, and I sure have the torque I was looking for. No need to buzz it - prolly never see 5K rpms.

And there never was an engine so perfectly designed for a Model A Ford as a Small Block Chevy!

Had a 276 flathead,I felt the need to remind myself how much I hate myself so I built a 453 stroked nailhead and put a dn 5speed with a olds rear.
I will let you know if it was worth it soon.
