Here's a pic of my recent acquisition, a '62 Ranchero. Been sitting in blackberry bushes for several years, complete but not running (yet). I have it for sale for $1750 but if no one buys it I will eventually restore it into my daily driver. Getting great inspiration from this thread!

I think I was called cedar lake . It was a nice show right behind the Host Hotel in Sturbridge Ma. Held by the falcon club of America

  7. Anybody dealt with Unlimited Products for fiberglass hoods, etc?

    http://www.up22.com/about.htm

I'm thinking about trying out one of their stock 62-63 FA-104 'glass hoods...

I thought maybe Big Block or Don might have heard of or dealt with 'em since they have Anglia fiberglass parts...

OOPS! Just realized one of ya'll has an Austin...

Yep. Bought a hood from them in the 90s. Great fit and nice and flat.

  9. Cool, thanks.

Although I really like the looks of the Crites tear drop hood, it would kinda' detract from the sleepy look I'm tryin' to maintain...

  12. My buddy up in Springfield, Mass, Louver Lou, said he had a chance to check out your car and talk with you at the Falcon Club thing.
He was impressed with the work....

  16. Well, that's that.

    Universally despised.

I guess I'll look elsewhere for a stock appearing glass hood.

U.S. Body Source has a stock-appearing 'glass hood for the '62 and '63 cars. I haven't dealt with them, though, so I have no way of knowing if they're of good quality or from a company with good service.

  18. I have used them - but for Mustang parts - not my Anglia (it is a steel body with a glass front end that was made from a mold off of my car in 1968)
The parts from Unlimited were "OK" quality, a little massaging and I might use that same hood on my 63

The radiator came, so I got going installing that. I gotta find out where all of that sits before I can finish the front sheet metal.
It is so fun to be back working on it again. The bumper is at the chrome shop getting stripped, the boomerang is getting rechromed, and I think I will start on the fan shroud tomorrow :)
I am trying to stay busy getting small things on it done instead of waiting around and losing momentum.

  21. Lookin' good Falconizer...

A dude I know that drives a wrecker called ta' say he'd seen a 63 Futura 4 door with a title for $400 in a storage yard a few miles from where I live.

I took a ride over this mornin' for a look-see:

Was it that rough? You don't usually find these around that cheap any more

  23. When I opened the left rear door to look inside, it fell out of the body.

    That was enough for me.

    Are the pictures showin' up?

  25. Well, if I had your metal working skills, I prolly would've scooped it up. ;)

I'm just a broken down old line monkey.

Thank you for your kind words. Things always tend to look better in pictures. You can start dreaming and your dreams are not immediately dashed by foul smells, rust flakes , and overall pain in the ass factor. "That's no big deal", I say to myself when the reality I am confronted with does not line up with my dreams. That is one of the reasons the wagon is such a big project. If I would have had something running and driving, I would have left it pretty much alone.

Looks like some decent parts left, but I'd have also passed at $400. They're still not too spendy around my area, and I hate fixing rust!
