im still looking for 53 dodge b4c front drums, this is getting stupid, seems like some one or some where would have some, any help would be awesome
have ya considered converting to front disc brakes? Rustyhope.com has some help in that area...when my drums finally go out of tolerance, I'm gonna do the disc brake conversion as parts might be easier to come by. There had been some talk on the Pilot-House forum that there was a trailer brake drum from Northern Tool & Equipment that was very close to the Dodge truck drums, but I hadn't look too much into that
Your main problem is that you're looking for rare 3/4 or 1 ton front drums. 1/2 ton stuff is much more common. I put Volare IFS on my 50 Dodge pu. Bought ' 46 Dodge PU and it had Volare, also. Volare is definitely getting rarer and weirder. Easiest idea is to buy 1/2 ton Dodge front axle and bolt on? I think I have one of those here in Central CA can't ship that though. Take a measurement center of front spring to front spring where axle bolts on. Maybe it is time for a disc conversion. You can figure $200 just for a couple of used drums shipped to you. Take that $200 and put it towards disc brakes. I don't know if you can get that weird bolt pattern, though.
More than likely I'm going to have to do disc brakes, I hear the rusty hope stuff is good Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
