Hot Rods Seattle Apple Orchard Survivor '32 5W

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ELpolacko, Aug 21, 2013.

  1. Couple of years back we did one bad M/F of a 3W for B1gDaddy and it got the attention of Mr Bob in Seattle. A few of his friends here convinced him to bring me his car for the same treatment.

Bob bought the car in June of 1963 as what I believe to be a bit of a racer. White Tuck-N-Roll, Roll bar and an early HEMI!

At some point Bob and his friends pulled the HEMI out and got the drive train from a '64 Fairlane and started the installation but never finished it. The car was left in his barn ever since. Well, until he yanked it out from its slumber and brought it to the sunny South West for us to work it over and put it back into commission.

Here is a photo journal of what has gone down so far:

    Just as we received it,

Then the work started by Dr Marvelus doing his thing.

  3. The firewall got some attention next. It had been sheeted over and had some odd master cylinders hanging on it. Decision was made to put the pedal back under the floor, so the large gaping hole got fixed.

Trunk lid got adjusted and fitting tits!

Body came off the frame and the chassis tear down began.

Incredible!!! Really is a great source of inspiration seeing stuff untouched for that long. I love that steering arm, it's neat.

It's in good hands and the work so far is top notch as usual bud!

Can't wait to see what Bob says now that this thead has finally statred.

  17. Wrong title. Should read "I'm going to fix it up some day, sometimes really happens."

    Great car. Good work.

  24. Any Vin #s on the top of the left rail? Found the only remaining one of the three on my last one at the rear kick up.

From appearances, when it was last together...it was full fendered, nose up, white undercarraige, ladder bars, and tow bar mounts. awesome for an old fool like me

what will it end up like

  27. Could very well be. I know he moved it around a little bit.

Going to try and preserve a bit of that look. But I have to make it slightly more streetable.
