55-57 Chevy mashup

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by cmh5557, Aug 20, 2013.

  1. Does anyone have any pictures of 55-57 Chevys with mixed and matched sheetmetal?

    Thanks

  3. That first photo is the reason why more people don't mix the tri fives..now the one Bob posted is a reason why not give it a try. HRP

Hard to believe, but that '55-'56-'57 "thing" is just so wrong....or....just ain't right! DD

A friend and I built this back in the late 70's for an old high school buddy of mine, originally painted green. Later, he sold it back to me, and I put some of my own touches on it.
Back then, we used what was available, and we could not find a 56 nose at the time, but I think we pulled off a good looking car! Sold it to a guy up North Jersey back in 82-3.

  6. I saw one of those ^^^ in Florida when I was a teenager. The difference was the owner just slapped on the '55 front clip and drove it. The body trim wasn't the only thing that didn't match.

That would've been great back in the days of the convertible classes.

Kool thread...subscribed. I'm really digging the '56 trim on the red and white '57 that has the '55 front clip, beautiful.

That is just a '57 Bel-Air convertible with '57 150 trim, like a phantom Black Widow ragtop.

  18. The '55-'56 thing is passable, I saw more than a few of those in the day.

  19. I like it, but would have done the parking lights differently.
