I'm not very far into this thread yet but this sums up part of it for me, my 235 crapped out in my 52 and I have a 283 that I'm gonna put in it but if I could afford the rebuild of the 6 I would and ill save all my drive train so when I can I change her back!!! weesner's car is killer regardless of the engine and like he said as an observer all of these cars are sick no matter what's under the hood.

Thought I'd share some current pictures of my car on this thread..

All that's left to do is the interior :)

Man, that thing is sweet!!! It's hard to beat the look of a black car with all those curves and a set of wide white walls.

Are these 51-52 plymouth wheel covers. They look killer, I am trying to find a wheel cover for my 1940 chevy sedan. Its a late 40's early 50's kustom. Not much pretty mild. Its lowered, Appletons, and Skirts. eventually when i get some cash a interior.

Yes sir they are Plymouth caps. I really want lyons caps and these are the closest I could find that we're in my price range. You can always find them pretty cheap on eBay.

I was looking at them. My choices were
    - 1951-1952 Plymouth wheel covers.
    - 1949-1952 Cadillac sombrero covers.
    - 1953 cadillac's but little to new for the style i am going for.
    - 1953 Mercury Hubcaps.

Advice what do you guys think for my 1940 chevy would look killer.
This is the setup I am looking for. This is fellow HAMB'r Jebos 41

This is my 40 chevy still in the works. Its taking a little bit because I am trying to find as much NOS stuff as possible.

  15. A few in-progress shots from my 51 Merc. With the hood closed, there will be no visual parts newer than '55. I can't wait to see it in dark green paint.

    Not me!

Can't wait to see it in shiny paint, but it looks killer in satin too!! Make sure you have fun with it while its flat, cause once you paint it you really gotta worry about it... I almost regret painting my '46! haha

  22. I have 4 Lyons caps, 2 are one style, 2 are another. Let me know if you'd like pics, I don't think I'm going to use them, I'm leaning towards '53 Caddy. PM me.

    Hi Jeff!

Hope all is great with you!

Haven't been on the HAMB more than 30 minutes the last 6 months (too much work), but I saw that Ryan had divided the categories and that should be a good thing for us who loves kustom cars. Our threads drowns in the thousands of general or hot rod threads and is never to be seen.

This is definately a thread that belongs in the new Traditional Customs section. One of the reasons for this thread is to support and cherish the traditional new builds. But I guess the moderators have had their hands full to sort out the new categories. Since I am the thread originator, should I drop Ryan a short note about the thread and where it belongs?
