Just finished up 8 good solid hours with Jeff Myers at Premier Paint & Body in Ark City,KS. We are modifying a '51 Caddy bumper to fit my '51 Merc with '52 Linc tail lights. It will also end up with some '55 Chev quarters in there somewhere. I'm glad Jeff has a good vision of what I was wanting. Here's where we stand as of tonight. We are far from being done but closer than we were yesterday. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Jason , Missed you on Friday . Looks good. When I stopped there Jeff was holding up the bumper , pacing back and forth . Looking through his reference books. He has a eye for details and what flows. Enjoy your car ,hope you get it out and drive it this summer.
Tommy, when it does go in for final paint I'd like it to be a green so dark it almost looks black. That'll be after many hours of sanding, unfortunately.
Right now its about 8" to short. I'm thinking about just having a set of downturned tips put on it just before the bumper and not showing any exhaust. It echos nicely under the pan and bumper.
That "echo" gets pretty tiresome on serious road trips from my experience. It's easy to fix after you get tired of it and tired of the mess on the bumper though. That bumper is going to look great on that car when it's done. Mid/late 90's Caddies had a dark green that would look almost black in anything except direct sunlight.
I"m your huckleberry... , i got just the formula on what you are wanting on the paint, had it in my head for along time. I know what to do, just havent had anyone want that kolor yet....maybe I will paint the dash so you can stare at it for miles while pondering the situation over.....LOL
Paint the dash!!! And strip off all that awful artwork by some loser named "McPhail"? I'm down for that. It's only paint, right?
