Well- with all the moisture in the ground, it will be impossible to completely rule out a t-storm. I mean it IS Missouri and it IS August.
I'm praying for dry weather. So sick of rain. We've been soaking in it around Wichita, and I know its been bad in southern Missouri, too. Forecast looks promising, so far.
Seattle has had a warmer summer than Los Angeles, I'll bring the sun with me. See you guys this weekend.
We have never been rained out. There was one year where lightning struck a transformer a few miles from the track and darkened the whole place with one more round to go... After that, we all stood under the awning at the Ramada and drank beer while it rained like a MO-FO. Fun as hell... Don't sweat the weather. See you in three days. -Abone.
That is the money shot. That was THE lightning strike that did us dirty. Still made it from the track, to the beer store and all the way back to the hotel before it started raining like a sumbitch. Still had a damn good time.. -Abone.
I remember something about a guy on a mini-bike doing wheelies in the rain while we all stood under the awning! I was a blast!
The Gordons will be making an appearance after a three year hiatus. And yea, weather never seems to dampen the fun in Joplin! Will be good to see a lot of old friends.
Standing... jammed shoulder-to-shoulder... trading swigs of Jack Daniels under the hotel awning at the hotel while it poured cats and dogs around us... one of my all-time fondest memories.
