Damn, there were actually race cars on the salt! After seeing all too many photos on Facebook of street cars posing as race cars it's refreshing to see a guy posting almost all race car photos and great ones at that along with a few nifty rods and a few strange rods and damned few salt posers with numbers painted on their doors and a class designation that never existed.

Great Pics, thanks! I too dig the Edsel. Probably the coolest thing I've ever seen done to one of them.

 

You said it perfect........there so many running around with the numbers. I think its kind of funny.

I guess it is no different that all the cars out there with window decals and stickers for car products they aren't even running on their car!

 

I agree completely. FWIW, I am there for the racing and don't even go to the Nugget for the "show"

 

I set my own speed records on flat Iowa roads.

 

Thanks for taking the time and effort to share. Good subject choices, I'll admit to being a bit biased with the 430 and 8892 being relatively local.....

Too bad ,If you didn't go to the Nuget, you missed a car show you will not see any where else !!! Chris

 

Ya there are some cool cars there,fiberglass Tucker (which I liked) and plenty of very nice period correct hot rods. I especially loved the ratrod truck that layed frame and had 24"s on it.
Like you said.... will not see anywhere else !!
