Was the wheelbase shortened so the fenders would match the trunk?

 

Wheelbase is stock

As Ryan mentioned, lots of work to make a sectioned full fendered 34 "work".

In about the early 80's I saw a dark maroon, full fendered, sectioned 34 at the World of Wheels car show here in San Diego. Immediately, I thought it had to be this car (!) as I remembered the magazine cover car, but I was never able to track down the owner. Car may still exist.

 

Get a hold of Carl @ Wescott's in Damascus, Oregon, Dee was building one similar to this when he died, Brizio finished it beautifully....

This is a local car,no chop and very nicely done [a long time ago].

Somewhere in my massive magazine inventory I still have that magazine,,one of my all time favorite model 40's. HRP

 

one of my staff just went on vacation and stopped in an antique store and brought that issue to me just last week.....killer car.

 

The proportions are spot on. ALso love the scallop/ color combo. anyone know if its still around?.........

That '34 3w in post #11 is Buddy George's car. He built it and has had it forever. A very cool car! But just who the hell is Buddy George?

The tail light stalks & headlight stands were shortened keeping every proportion just right.

 

Hopefully the pic uploaded. It is my '34 cabriolet. It has been sectioned at the beltline but obviously is fenderless and will likely stay that way. It was shortened also...14". I have put ten inches back in it at the doors. I have a thread with a couple of pics of it when I got it home in March. Tim ( I went back and added a current photo..still figuring out the image resize stuff)

 

Actually the interior (headliner) is the ONLY thing I'd have to rethink. Otherwise change nothing.

Don't always know how to get there but know when its done.....
