Don't have a picture, but I remember working at "Western Auto" many moons ago we sold a tire with the brand name of Davis , I don't know if any of you guys ran those things ,but you could do some killer burnouts with em & they seemed to never wear out................don't know what compound they used but sure wish they were still available !!

  5. Damn things are allways in the way and collecting dust. Two 6 x 16 made in the USSR, Two skinny 16 inch Avons and a nice old fashioned 16 inch recap.

I just ran nearly 3,000 miles-Long Beach to Pittsburgh- by the long slow country roads. My stock, all original 53 GMC made the trip with no notable difficulties. The point of this story is the trip was made on 25 year old dry rotted 6-16 bias tires (firestone). I have maybe 10,000 miles on them now and looking for some new old tires, with the right look to throw on. If anyone has tires they would be willing to part with let me know.

Tired from working in yard so I'll post some pics. Allstate extra deep tread-hood400-ford script universal whitwall-couple of continentals-couple of Firestone gumdipped-and 2 protrac 60s. Most from old projects but a few from current 37 coupe. Guess I'm collecting?

  11. They were still putting them on new cars as late as '87.
