Well, put me in the juvenile mentality column, because I think most of the comments are humorous and clever. I enjoy them as much as the photos themselves, and most will illicit at least a grin from me. And no, I'm not one of the commenters.

The photos aren't random -- they are chosen because they stimulate a memory or are obviously erotic. Very few have any text describing who or where the subject is, generating genuine questions in the viewer. If they weren't stimulating this thread wouldn't be so popular.

Bandwidth? All the comments combined don't equal a hundreth of the bandwidth of just one of the photos!

I think you grouchy folks need to give the rest of US a break. Your chastising is the worst downer on the Forum!

 

Thanks, Search Dog. Hot rodding and pretty girls and going fast and being self-reliant.. Good Lord, aren't these all aspects of the prurience that attracts us to "the Lifestyle"?
If someone put up shots of hot babes from the old days and no one commented, now that would just be queer. I came for the escapism aspect and often leave because of the lisping bitch-slaps.

I mainly visit this site as I am a petrolhead and, knowing little about early American cars, I am gradually being educated. Additionally the site is terrific for its content of American scenes and your country's social history. It has even come up with some interesting prewar British cars which I had not come across before.
The fact that a few ladies pop up from time to time adds to the value. No pornography, just pretty girls and, as mentioned, the occasional humorous comment.

 

And is this worse then texting while driving.

You can please some of the people sometime but you can't please all of the people all of the time. If you don't like it don't read it and move on.I'm sure Dog and the mods can take care of it if they deem it inappropiate.We all enjoy this thread and it would be bad if it got shut down because of a petty matter.

 

I may grow older but I refuse to grow up. Love all the pictures AND the comments.

Imagine the "Safety Nazis" if you tried that today! Although with the snow and ice in that shot, there would be some risk.

 

Well, since it said The Desert of a Thousand Palms at the 2:43 mark, I would say it's Thousand Palms over to the Joshua Tree Monument area.

 

Back from being on road for a few days. Interesting read catching up...and 29bowtie has posted some stimulating variety.
