History Car Spotter's Guide to the 1958 to 1960 Edsel

Latest in the Spotter's Guide Series, the much-mailgned Edsels of 1968 to 1960. They were interesting cars with a look all their own.

Maybe I'm twisted but I like Edsels. Especially the '58 Ranger and Pacer two-doors.

 

My favorites are the 58 Roundup 2 door station wagon, and the 60 2 door hardtop with the Starliner roof. Both are cool, but quite rare.

 

Two very rare bears -- less than a thousand of each if I'm not mistaken.

There's a 60' wagon sitting in a salvage yard near Hilsboro, Oh. Complete and waiting for someone to bring it back.

Somebody needs to save that '60 wagon. Very rare car.

 

Maybe so, but I really like the look, especially the '58. I totally get how people will identify the distinctive styling with failure, but I still like it.

 

Here is my 58 Ranger 4 door sedan. I get people asking me "aren't Edsels lemons" a lot.

We had a 58 Bermuda 9-pass wagon. Red and white with the woodgrain. 303 hp 361.
