  3. first thing I thought of was "Who's on first"

then I thought of an episode of cops when people called in, they were drunk and found a cops jacket, they said it was owned by Pat Rolman......they were reading the patch that said patrolman

    hahaha

I was flipping through the hundreds of pages to see if my dad had put a picture of his willy on here. When I came across your post. That picture was taken in Kernville, CA. That was his first car show with the new paint. My dad and I built the truck with help from Rods West. Where my dad likes to work on his days off. He did all the metal, wiring and engine work to the truck. Took us about three years or so to complete. We started with stock frame and cab. Anymore questions or would like more pictures. I can post some more.

This 1940 Willys Coupe is a old local car owned and raced by Clyde Sutton here in Columbus Ohio it was called Clyde's Camel. This is the only picture we have of it, anybody have any other pictures of it?

Thanks for sharing those. That is a real timewarp. My dad had a chance to buy KS Pittman's 33 willys in the 70s in California it was just the body and had a chopped top but he couldn't come up with the money. He said at that time the Willys was no longer competative and everyone had moved on to other body styles.

Yes it would!! He had already owned a 41 willys Coupe which he bought in Iron Mountain Wyoming for $50 and sold to someone in Colorado for $250. I think he said the man was going to build a gasser out of it. He later bought a 40 deluxe coupe in Colorado. The price had gone up as the Cam Grinders had turned up the heat and the Willys coupe was the car to have. He flat towed the willys from Colorado to Texas. He built it with a 327 chevy with the ten percent set back and a muncie four speed They painted it Candy Tangerine which was 62 Honduras Maroon with a candy color over the top It didn't run that good because it only had a 308 gear in the 55 Chevy rear end. He was Drafted to Vietnam and after the war he sold it to a friend. When I go to Texas I will scan the picture that he has and post it. He still talks about that car and that is what got me hooked on them

Looking like a kind of mutant Willys-transformeresque-contraption but there's a coupe body in there somewhere (i hope) and I'm happy as Larry that its heading my way.

  20. One of the few I've seen with the hood spears on board. Saw a number out there with the little mounting holes on the louvers, but no trim. Rumour that I had heard was that stainless spears were sent to the dealers after the cars were already out, to be installed later...but many never got put on...thus the hoods with holes!
