I can't believe Continental John didn't know about it. He always scores good stuff like this up there. Maybe he will chime in here with some info.

There are some indications of old motor mounts that have been removed, so, we were thinking that it possibly had a flathead in it when originally built...it does have a torque tube and banjo rearend in it also, haven't seen the trans yet

Not really diggin' the exhaust, and I'd be a little worried about overheating with no fan, but WOW what a cool car. Won't take much for that to be a great little cruising rod.

Then it most likely still has a Ford trans because the adapter plate was dirt cheap back then, and super easy to connect the Olds to the Ford trans.

It was a very big job to do a LaSalle, and required a machinist to respline the mainshaft.

Wow what a find! This looks to me like an old Hot Rod. That dash, the beautiful
peeked grill shell, the tall head light stands, all late 40s early 50s stuff. looks
like 32-34 spindles with ford shocks. Someone split the wishbones and moved the steering box over to install the Olds. The cut in the shell looks like it sat a little
higher on the frame so the channel was probably not as deep as it is now. Trans
is probably a Lincoln Zephyr. Upholstery was an upgrade with the red piping to
match the body color. Gas tank looks like it was pressurized at one time. I wouldn't
be surprised if this car saw some lakes duty. I think you guys hit the mother load.
    Good luck with your search.

  18. The shifter tower coming out of the right side is like the Lincoln, best I remember.

That's totally cool, make it safe, drive it, look after it so it survives the next 50 years.

well cant help on that one were it was probably put away before my time. Its a bitchen car and wish I would have found it. I just cant even think how many old hot rods are sitting waiting to be found. I know of a bunch and all have seen daylight in 40 or 50 years and the owners keep saying not forsale
