Wheel color help needed

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hd1084, Aug 6, 2013.

  1. I'm putting a set of "Steelies" on my truck and would like some input from yall on a color choice. I also just painted my firewall white and I was considering white wheels with blackwall tires. JMO. Below is a photoshop pic with black wheels. Ley me know your thoughts. Black, White, or Red ???

Black. Red would be too much red. Would look like a fire truck. I think white would look odd.

If you are going to run caps and trim rings the white might tie into the firewall a little. Black would be good too, but white might light up the car a little more.

I agree with Don on white with caps and trim rings. However, if chrome is an option, I vote chrome with no caps or trim rings and some gummy wide whites....

Tip: I run 235/85/16 Uniroyals LT tires. They'll grab the ground Better. But No WW, if you go with the above mentioned.

Tan wheels will look '70's street rod. White will clash, period. What era do you like? Black steelie's are so safe/popular the last few years. Yellow-n-red is mustard & catsup Mc'D's colors. The chrome reverse/white wall of some kind will look early 60's cool. Think past what is popular lately.

I'm with the chrome reverse & whitewall camp. That'd put it over the top IMO, nice truck btw.

Black with wide whites, cap and trim ring. The whites will brighten it up a bit.

  25. Well it's lookin like "Black" wheels with rings & caps just like I was orginally thinking. I just have to decide on the wide whites or black walls.

Thanks to all for your opinions. Much appricated...:)
