It seems like there is a little problem with Famoso. TRJ just called and are trying to iron out a few bugs. I am all cleaned and loaded up but we may not be heading there after all. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

  5. Rick & TRJ - how about burnout shots on the street somewhere???? Hope something works out. Looking forward to seeing the TRJ feature not to mention seeing the car and you guys in Oct!

It didn't go well but we had a great time hanging out with Steve and Geoff. We just couldn't find a suitable location. ALL the streets looked good to me but the background wasn't good for them. That's what makes TRJ what it is. The best magazine in the business. It looks like we are going to use an Orange County location in the next couple of weeks after I get back from New Orleans. Since the Sedan is all cleaned up, I guess I just HAVE to drive it to work today.

i dont blame you.no use letting a cleaned up hotrod go to waiste. besides IF you should have a bad day at work the hot rod will take the pain away on the way home...................

  10. So was Irwindale not an option? Yeah, it's not as traditional as Famoso, but it is a dragstrip, and it's REAL close to your house. That would be much easier for you, logistically.

Since the place went through it's financial troubles, it might be difficult to do anything there without paying big bucks to use it.

    Alex-
I suggested that to them but Steve didn't think it had the right look. After looking through some of TRJ issues, who can argue with that!

  12. I have to agree, the "new" Irwindale doesn't have a very good vibe. Knowing the perfectionists at TRJ, it HAS to be right. That's why their product is the best on the market. They refuse to compromise.

Too bad Baylands is closed. THAT would have been been kick ass!!

A few days ago, someone asked for pictures of the second E&B car. Pete gave me these pictures at lunch today. Sorry we didn't have some clean shots of it alone, so please overlook the junk in the background.:D

  17. That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. Is that back when Jerry Moreland owned the 554?

One of my all-time favorite drag cars ever.

I met a journalist from France at the Hot Rod show in March. He said he wanted to do a shoot for a French magazine called American Muscle and Hot Rods. It came in the mail today. Great small picture of us on the cover and 8 pages inside. It is a nice blend of old photographs and new. I will posts some pictures later today. It's a shame a can't read French.

    Thanks Bill!
I hope to see your car in person some day. That would be a great side by side shot. Static of course. I don't want my ego bruised to badly.;)

Here is the cover shot. It's small, so look at the bottom right.:D

I find it interesting the different editorial styles of magazines out there.
A lot of the pictures in the article have people in them and other magazines only focus on the vehicles. I find that interesting. I guess it has to do with the philosophy of visual art and getting the right image.

Great photo but could you post it in a larger size, say 640x480 so I can make a good copy for my files. I love the photo and your car.
    Thanks,
    Lynn
