ive always loved old cars and hotrods. I was born in 1955.but I have to physically live in the now but not mentally.when I get behind the wheel of one of my cars its as close to a time machine that I can get.when im lookin thru that windshield im 20 yrs old again with my classic rock carrying me where I want to go. and I build my own because nobody knows what the hell is going on in my head. that includes me sometimes..lol
All of the above, plus the satisfaction inherent in driving/using something that you built as much of as possible with your own hands.
Making the the photos you take look just like the snapshots you've had in your head. That's what does it for me.
When it's all said and done, that's it. The people who get "that" are the ones I always have time for and I appreciate their opinion of my car.
@ 68yo i have liked hotrods ever since i bought the "little pages" back in the 50s. Gray Baskerville said rods&customs were NOT designed by a commettie of people setting around a conference table. besides we are working on and driving restored American history!..........................
