That is so cool...I had the exact same car as a little kid (not a cool gasser though).... my dad was headed to work, and backed over it with his '59 Mercury.... he was scared I was in it, and found I just left it there.....big old Merc just mad a pedal car pancake of it.... :)

Love the patina on it. That was a well used car before its transformation.

    Nice.

I built it myself. That aged body with it's 40+ years of patina was an Ebay score for $76.00 . Nothing has been cleaned or polished. None of the metal has been clear coated or protected. Little by little,.....the chassis and it's componets should match up to the body quite well. I sand blasted the magnesium rear wheels then let them set. The desired oxidation really did not take long at all. Thanks for the kind words !

The "rat" script is geared toward the (attitude of the pedal car),......and not about any rat rod affiliation. If it was meant to praise the rat rods,.....then the script would have said "Rat Rod" :)

Great gift! I'm looking forward to giving my son a pedal car when he's big enough.

The front runners are just 8" cart wheels from the hardware store. The back slicks and the magnesium bead lock wheels are an Ebay score from a shifter cart. The rear wheels were gold plated when i got them. I sand blasted them,.....scuffed them evenly with steel wool,....then left them alone. Over the coarse of two years,.......they have really aged nicely :)

Freakin' rad. I'd lop off my legs to ride in that. Someone else needs to make one and we got a match race going!
