One of my mentors and creator of many wise comments passed away last year and i thought i would show this to y'all. He loved racing and hot rods more than anything and so does his wife. His children and brother even understood also and decided that everyone who passes by will know what he lived for. He drove the North Texas fuel altered called "Cantankerous" a Blown BBC T-altered and ran the hell out of it up until he was 73. I'm not sure if this would be considered in the art section or whatever but i have not personally seen another head stone like this one. Those are his daughters in the picture and today is his birthday, reminded me when i logged on to FB and thought it would be a good time to share.
This thread reminds me of HAMBANDY,a young man that touch us all with his sweet nature and his strong determination to build and drive his Model A even though he was always smiling and ravaged with a horrible disease. He won our hearts and made us better people. HRP
True Hot Rodders to the end and beyond! Brings a smile to my face and a lump in my throat at the same time.
It's amazing what they can laser etch into stone now. My nephew has his quad on his stone. When we went to look at ones for my son, I noticed some are done in colors now. Amazing.
the sorrow of losing someone is never ending but, a tribute as shown as the headstones helps soothe the soul. wild coffins are good but, they do not reach as many as a great headstone. being cremated with ashes spread over a closed race track, or somewhere like that, is a good way too. sincere sympathy goes out those that have lost a special person in their lives.
