The bridge that hold the air cleaner in the car snapped. Cool, awesome, mega, fall way short of everything but that poor header tube. 98 points and good fortune to you sir, seems like you are doing wellenuff!!!!
Lol, thanks dude. Yes, shame about the header, getting it to work with the r&p proved rather difficult.
Awesome. long live the more-doors!! There is a guy down my street with a red/white 56 passenger, has been sitting since before I moved there, and hasn't moved a day. Makes me sick!!
Too many doors, and a post... but damned that thing looks cool! Only complaint I woulda tried some different headers instead of that big of a dent. I'm running sanderson shorties on mine and have just enough room to not need any denting.
Thanks guys. Understand the comments about the header but being in Scotland it's difficult to get parts as the lead time in shipping from the US delays things. We kind of have to work with what we can get. Ross has been busy. Two weeks until I set off on my big trip! New bow for the roof rack. Right let's get this up to date. After a last minute rush the car got back to me on Wednesday night. There has been a problem with the power steering pump so we have by passed it with a belt to just the altenator, heavy to park but motorway driving is cool. I had the 40 mile drive home to make sure everything was all good before setting off on my trip, and it was. So Friday morning I loaded up and hit the road at 5.30am from Dunblane in Scotland. road-trip-001 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr Plenty of stops for this... road-trip-006 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr Time to check out the new stance... road-trip-007 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr About 100 miles in to the journey the stereo packed in. Another stop for one of these... road-trip-005 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr and I managed to fix a loose connection and get some sounds again. road-trip-004 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr Traffic was pretty good for over 400 miles, then I hit the M25 that runs around London and it took an hour and a half to get the last 40 miles. road-trip-003 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr Then I arrived at the sold out Hot Rod Hayride Just as I pulled up outside a couple of friends were arriving by taxi so I gave them a lift into the show road-trip-002 by NickGrant.co.uk, on Flickr It used a little oil and £150 of petrol for the first 440 miles of my trip.

I stayed fairly locally and went to visit Miles at Jackhammer Speed Shop to order some bits and hang out in his awesome shop. My friend Simon, Nefarious Pinstriping, came along to add some lines to my rear quarter windows and stripe a pedal car I picked up for my son at the weekend. Great pics Nick, hope you enjoyed the road trip and get those headers sorted. I've got an old set of block huggers sitting spare if you want to mess around with them first to see if they are any better... Wonder if missy Malone would do a shoot in my old 40 or the apache when it hits the road Stuart
Thanks dude, I'm sure we can sort something out for a pinup shoot Headers seem to be OK, still getting the same airflow through. 1500 miles completed in the 57, made it home in one piece! Used about £470 of fuel 5 litres of oil Some fun and games included: Gear linkage going over centre and jamming Throttle jamming open Boot (trunk) refusing to open The most bizarre noise from the altenator, which kept working and then the noise went away 500 miles later. Stereo working intermittantly and then I blew a speaker Rear number plate fell off but was resting on the bumper when I stopped for fuel A great adventure!
Ni Nick, nice to see all the progress logged down in one place. you're certainly not afraid to get plenty of miles under her. Mart.
