History FE Hemi dragster headed for Deer Park

    This photo was taken in 62 or 63. Guy standing at the left is John Rodeck (yes, THAT John Rodeck) and his buddies. All were from Lewiston, Idaho. They were getting ready to head up to Spokane for the drag races at Deer Park.

    I grew up in Deer Park long after the drag strip closed!

    Lewiston Idaho was a hotbed of future big time racers, John Rodeck, Neil DeAtley (of Trans Am fame) and some oval track racers as well. Thanks for posting the pic.

    We drove to Deer park alot to watch the Drags,saw a Real Z-L1 early Pro stock Camaro there and watched a Funny car burn to the ground, the Magnesium wheels burned for hours! Deer Park was a COOL track. Chris
